FreeCell
FreeCell is the thinking player's solitaire — every card is dealt face-up at the start, so there's no hidden information and almost every deal is solvable with careful play. Use the 4 free cells as temporary parking, build the 4 foundations up by suit from Ace to King, and stack the tableau down in alternating colours.

How to play
FreeCell uses a 52-card deck dealt into 8 tableau columns: columns 1–4 get 7 cards each, columns 5–8 get 6 cards each. Every card is dealt face-up — there's no hidden information, no stock, no waste. Above the tableau sit 4 free cells (each can hold a single card) and 4 foundations (one per suit).
Foundations build up by suit from Ace to King. An Ace starts a foundation, then the 2 of the same suit goes on top, and so on up to the King. Win when all 52 cards sit on the foundations.
Tableau columns build down in alternating colours — a red 6 on a black 7, a black 5 on a red 6, and so on. Empty columns can be filled with any card or run.
You can only move a single card at a time, but you can effectively move a sequence as one "supermove" if you have enough spare capacity. The maximum run you can move is (1 + empty free cells) × 2empty columns — when moving onto an empty column, that column doesn't count toward the multiplier. The "Max move" badge shows the current cap.
Free cells are single-card parking spots — drop a card there to free up a column, then pick it up again later. With 4 free cells and 4 columns, the deepest supermove you can realistically pull off is 5 × 23 = 40 cards (more than enough to relocate any run).
Strategy tips
- Keep free cells empty whenever possible — they're your most flexible resource.
- Try to empty a column: an empty column doubles your supermove capacity and gives you somewhere to relocate long runs.
- Send Aces and 2s to the foundations as soon as you can — they're never useful on the tableau.
- Be careful with high cards (J, Q, K) on the tableau — they're hard to move off because nothing stacks on top of a King.
- Plan ahead: because every card is visible from the start, almost every FreeCell deal is solvable with perfect play. If you're stuck, undo and try a different ordering.
Controls
- Click a face-up card to pick it up (the whole valid alt-colour descending run above it travels too). Click a destination to drop.
- Click a free cell to drop the held card there, or to pick up the card sitting in it.
- Click a foundation to drop the held card if it's legal (Ace on empty, same-suit +1 on top).
- Double-click a top card to auto-send it to a foundation if legal.
- Undo rewinds one move (up to 50 deep). New game shuffles a fresh deal.
